Volkswagen JETTA converted into Camping car for sleeping | Car Camper
I would like to introduce my story about converting my Jetta into car camper.
If you are a Jetta owner, you would be able to convert your Jetta into a great car camper for up to two people.
No camper is necessary if you have just a Jetta!
This is my 2013 Jetta with more than 170,000 km mileage.
Jetta is originally famous for its trunk space.
I just tried to make my Jetta to host myself and my son.
This is a normal configuration with back seat installed.
You can simply pull off the seat...
Just pull off the seat, and the seat will be detached from the car body.
Don't be scared... It won't break down.
Just pull off! pull off!
The back seat is just a large rubber-made object. :)
There is a clip on the back seat, and it is stucked in the lower car body, and you are able to detach it from the main body.
↓↓↓ You can see a holder to be linked with the back seat component.
↓↓↓ There are two clips installed under the back seat component.
You can disassemble from the main body of the car, and you can see the bottom of the main body.

It is like a huge rubber-made object covered with leather surface.
The weight of the component would be 10+ kg.
(If we unload the component, it will help to enhance efficiency of the car...)
Next, we need to fold the back seat.
There are two switches in the trunk side.
If you pull two switches, the back seat can be folded down.
You can fold down the back seats, and you can see a tiny tunnel between back seat and trunk area.
It is a safe passage between two areas.I installed a mattress in the trunk section. It is a mattress we use for kids.
This is a view from the trunk. It is quite roomy...
There is a 5-cm difference in height between trunk area and back seat area.
Since the height in the trunk section is much lower than the one in the back seat section,
I put a cushion in the trunk section in order to make two sections be the same heights.
In addition, the surface of the back seat section is too stiff,
I added more mattresses to cover the surface.
Using several Yoga mats could be an option,
I used several mattresses that are used for kids.
It has 'ㄷ' shape so that it can be installed between driver and passenger seats.
We also need to adjust the position of the driver and passenger seats, and fold them down.
There is a gap between driver's seat and back seat, and we can put any items such as ice box or camper box.
Everything is set up with pillow to take a nap!
It looks little bit bumpy... but up to two people can stay in this camper
Ready to Sleep for two people.
It perfectly fits to kids. :)
